Return to Brora

This is night no 26/2018 staying in the caravan. I'm at Brora C&MC Site at Dalchalm, near Brora. Very reasonable £26 for 2 nights for me and the mutts (free).

I'm using Brora really as a 'springboard' to Orkney. It's around 90mins from here to Gills Bay Ferry Port near Thurso, so it's a handy stop. Decided to stay the 2 nights to give the dogs a break from the car as we done home to here in a 'oner'. Last time I was here was exactly one calendar month ago, and on that occasion I stopped at Banchory, then Culloden on my way here. It's a long drive.

The weather was lovely when I left around 0930. I stopped at Bin Hill FC forest near Huntly to give the dogs a good walk. The carpark was fairly busy, or it seems that way when you're trying to squeeze in a caravan!

Bumped up on the verge.

It's a walk the dogs are well used to. It was warm and sunny.

Arrived here at Brora around 1500. First thing after finding a pitch, was a walk down to the beach.

And back across the golf course.

Site very busy with it being a bank holiday weekend, I had to settle for a grass pitch. Given the lovely weather, that suits me perfect.

After setting up, unpacking bags, going to the local shops for some supplies, and sticking up the TV aerial, took the dogs down to the beach. They had a blast.
