Yellowcraig

This is night No. 6/2019 living in my caravan. We're pitched up at the Yellowcraig C&MC Site near Dirleton, just outside North Berwick. I'm taking advantage of a 'Club' offer at the moment, where the pitches have a 50% discount midweek. The total for 3 nights (including me, the van, power, and the mutts) was £34.05. I had a voucher for £10, so my total was £24.05 for the 3 nights. Outstanding!

Being Spring, after conferring with my brother, it was probably not the time to embark on a huge tour, so a good option would be Yellowcraig for a few nights, and take it from there. I've been here many times in my camper vans, my Puck, and this Familia. I was last here 14th Oct 2018. It's a lovely site, right next to a stunning beach, and only 2.5 hours from home.

The weather was very mild. This pair desperate to get out for a blast.

After checking in, we took a walk down to the rather fine beach at Yellowcraig.

It was lovely. Felt like June rather than March!

The warden had asked if I wouldn't mind looking for a hardstanding pitch as opposed to the grass pitches. He was keen to let some of the grass recover from last years activity, and the rabbit activity over winter. I was happy to take pitch No. 18.

There are a lot of grass pitches around me, but the site is dead quiet. Fantastic!

Bonnie loving the view over the nearby fields.

After getting fully set up, we returned for another walk down to the beach. The field I wandered through next to the site was under a lot of windblown sand. Looking back at my caravan.

This is the lighthouse on the Island of Fidra, just offshore.

The view looking east along the beach to Lamb, Craigleith, and the Bass Rock. A huge expanse of beach here.

Great to be out in the van, and again, pretty flukey with the weather!!
