Old Hartley

This is night No. 34/2019 living in my caravan. Now pitched at the Old Hartley C&MC Site in Hartley, just north of Whitley Bay, in Northumberland.

The weather, as forecast, finally broke. Heavy rain from when I got up around 0600. It has been absolutely grim today! Soaked walking the dogs before breakfast, soaked later in the morning, soaked hitching up the van, then another soaking pitching up here, and again walking the dogs along the coastal path!!

However, all was forgiven as I got a new plaque for my collection from a site I've never visited before.

It's meant to be one of the music scenic locations on the network. Apparently I'm on a grass clifftop overlooking St Mary's Island!

A small site on a slope. The pitches are generally pretty level gravel patches. They are arranged so each pitch gets a nice view of the sea.

This is the rather grim (!) "England Coast Path".

I was prepared for today's weather, but to be honest, I see that little rain when I'm away that it comes as a bit of a chore. Lots of getting wet and drying kit, especially the dog towels. Tomorrow is meant to be even worse than today before it improves considerably on Friday.
