John Paul Jones Birthplace

This is night No 18/2020 living in the caravan. We're pitched at John Paul Jones Cottage, a CL near Kirkbean on the Solway Coast.

A good 4 hrs to get here. Traffic was fine, being a Sunday, but it was very windy. Just as well I wasn't towing a big caravan!

Quite a few improvements to the site since I was last here in September 2016. All the pitches are lined up, all with a clear view of the Solway firth. There is also mains power and free wi-fi. The price has increased from £10 to £15 to reflect this. There is also a toilet in the museum, which is left open for use overnight.

Took a little look at the cottage and the grounds.

First thing after setting up was to take the dogs a walk down the beach, a short walk from the site. Quite a few dog walkers around.

Nearby Southerness and it's lighthouse.

On the walk back, in the distance I could see the big house here, Arbigland.

And I could see the caravan and the cottage museum.

And, of course, I had to bring along some revision material....
