Nairn

This is night No.6/2021 living in my caravan. We're now pitched at Nairn C&CC Site, which is located just outside Nairn at Delnies Wood.

I was last here on 6th March 2020, just as the country entered the first coronavirus lockdown. The site didn't open after that until this season. I was there in a Troll, I've returned in a Puck!

I was keen to get out touring again, and left the house around 0930 in bright weather. It turned very showery on the way north, particularly as I got near Forres where it was very heavy hail showers.

Stopped, as usual, at Bin Hill Forest just outside Huntly to give the dogs a good run around the woods. This is a great stop, and is more or less half way between home and Inverness.

There a few really good trails, the one we took was a good hilly 45mins.

Stopped at Lidl in Forres for some fresh supplies, then continued on towards Nairn, arriving here at about 1330.

The reception is shut due to Covid rules, and I had to phone the reception who had already allocated pitch No.20 for me. Not a bad pitch, and I quickly got to it pitching the awning between showers.

A good location, and I really like this area, but absolutely zero investment has been made and the site is exactly as it's been for years now; the old (condemned and derelict) toilet block is still standing, the toilets and showers are in a porta cabin, and the pitches are crying out for more gravel!

Looking forward to a few days here before moving on.
